This Saturday, I am doing NOTHING. Getting up when I feel like it, watching some video clips, and toodling around the house. I am so looking forward to it. Several things popped up - I am so glad that I just said no.
Tomorrow I drive to Hobart and back to pick up a new computer. Friday-Monday, aside from school runs, dump runs, hardware runs, and cooking, I expect to be migrating my current desktop and software to my new machine, and prepping the old machine to hand it on to the boys, in place of the decrepit, clapped-out laptop they're using.
And I'll take their ancient laptop, load it up with Ubuntu, and figure out how to make it work.
When I'm done, I gonna clean the Augean stables, kill the Lernean Hydra, set up a functioning national broadband system and teach women all over the planet how to be happy with the shoes they've got.
Niiiiice. I'm doing the same, mostly because I need to stop hemorraghing money on the weekends. So my plan is to stay home, watch movies and work on cleaning out my storage room.
Launz - A round trip to Hobart just for a PC? Its not worth the precious, oh so precious time. Either buy one in Launceston, or get the bloody thing shipped from Hobart.
Of course, something popped up - but it's something cool. There is a "White Stripes" (the band) concert movie showing for three days only, one of them being Saturday. But that is the kind of thing I would WANT to do to relax on my 'do nothing' day.
Flinty - chain the hydra to the stables and divert the river, cleaning the stables and drowning the Hydra. Use the river diversion to trade enegry until you can afford the infrastructure payments for the broadband network. You are on your own for chicks and shoes...
Jen - I'm on top of cash, I mainly do cheapish geeky things that require organisation or effort, not lots of cash. I just need the break!
Jygg - Flinty once posted that he never does just one thing on a trip, there is always several and he shares the main reason. Same situation, Flinty? PC is just the tip of the iceberg?
